Father's active participation in childcare is important because it not only benefits children’s cognitive, physical, and emotional development but also reduces the parenting pressure on mothers. In EP6 of “KIT Viewpoints,” Dr. Huang talks about a study conducted by Dr. Wu Chih-wen, Associate Professor of the Department of Child and Family Science at NTNU, on Taiwanese fathers’ involvement in daily childcare, play with children, and their role in co-parenting. Dr. Huang also mentions some parenting skills that fathers should know and what mothers can do if fathers feel frustrated when they are taking care of children.
